Understanding God's Love and His Commandments
John 5:3 – “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.”
Have you ever wondered what it means to love God? In John 5:3, it says, “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.” This means that when we follow what God asks us to do, we are showing Him love. God’s commandments, like being kind, telling the truth, and helping others, are not meant to be hard or difficult. In fact, they are meant to make our lives better and bring us closer to Him.
Imagine your parents ask you to clean your room, but they also promise a fun reward afterward. You might feel happy doing the task because you know it leads to something good! God’s commandments work the same way. When we obey them, we experience His love, and we grow stronger in our faith.
Remember, God’s rules aren’t meant to weigh us down—they are a way to keep us safe and happy. So, let’s try our best to follow His commandments, not because we have to, but because we want to show God how much we love Him!
